The Story of 'Siesta in Samos'

I took this while wandering through Mesogio, a tiny village tucked away in the mountains of Samos. It was right in the middle of the afternoon siesta, and the town was so quiet you could literally hear a pin drop. Everyone was inside having their nap, which gave me a chance to really stop and look at the place.

What caught my eye was this one tall utility pole in the center of town. All the houses were connected to it by these criss-crossing wires. I found it really endearing—the idea that while the whole village is sleeping, they’re all physically linked together by this one lone pole. It felt like the heart of the town. This shot is about that simple, connected way of life that you only really see in these quiet, off-the-beaten-path places.
