The Uncommon View

Remember when you were young and realised how different the world looked just by covering one eye, and then the other? That moment of perspective—of realizing that how we see is a choice—is where photography begins for me. I create visuals by favoring the uncommon view, seeking out the inconspicuous excitement in our everyday environments.

Refined on Set

Based in Melbourne, Australia, I have been looking at the world through a camera lens for over twenty years. My perspective was forged in the high-stakes world of advertising, managing large-scale campaigns and working alongside some of Australia’s leading commercial photographers. Being on set with the industry's best taught me more than just technical precision; it taught me what to look for when capturing a scene—the subtle dance of light, the rhythm of a composition, and the "quiet" details that others miss.

From Melbourne’s Inner West to Palm Springs

My work is an exploration of contrast and connection—from the sun-drenched, mid-century optimism of Palm Springs and the moody, cinematic restraint of Tokyo’s film-shot alleyways, to the familiar, textured streets of Melbourne’s inner west. I am drawn to the fleeting moments that define a place, turning the "everyday" into a timeless, tangible record.

Captured to be Different

For me, a photograph is not finished when the shutter clicks. With a background in print production, I am meticulous about the final physical work. I shoot to print, specifically capturing scenes that are meant to live at a large scale on a wall rather than a small screen. Whether it is a signed, Limited Edition museum-grade print or a Studio Edition for a modern home, my goal is to produce a personal, tactile experience for the viewer.
